Wellness focused workplaceIf you enjoy helping others and want to work with great people, we are looking for a motivated, positive individual who is ready for their next adventure.** NOTE** This position will initially be located in Auburn, but this department will relocate to Roseville within approximately 3 months.SUMMARYThe Payroll/Benefit Specialist oversees all aspects of the organization's bi-monthly payroll process and benefits enrollment. They will work closely with 3rd party vendors to ensure accurate payroll schedules and distribution methods. They will collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer and Fiscal Department to generate reports about payroll, company budget tracking, and expenses.

  • B.A. or B.S. in Accounting/Finance or similar required
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in payroll or similar position
    • Excellent organizational and accounting skills
    • Proficiency with HRIS and similar software
    • Discretion with confidential salary and benefits information
    • Thorough knowledge of tax and wage laws
    • Knowledge of legal confidentiality and ethical requirements
    • Professional presentation
    • Competent interpersonal skills
    • Competent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficient in data entry
    • Knowledge of compliance standards
    • Proficient in Excel Spreadsheets
      • Process bi-monthly payroll and field employee questions about pay
      • Manage open enrollment processes and rate adjustments
      • Manage employee benefits for organization of 150+ employees
      • Generate and distribute termination checks and accompanying letters
      • Maintain updated employee information
      • Address and resolve employee questions relating to the payroll system
      • Integral team members to allocate staff hours to applicable grants
      • Process unemployment, disability claim forms, and wage garnishments,
      • Assess timesheets in the Workforce Go platform
      • Manage employee retirement accounts
      • Maintain confidential LMT/EMT files
      • Assist with external audits
      • Manage Risk Management and insurance coverage for agency
      • Actively utilize, reference, and follow agency policies, procedures, and guidelines
      • Adhere to all HIPAA and HITECH requirements as they pertain to client care
      • Participate in projects as assigned to support the Chief Financial Officer and the Fiscal TeamGranite Wellness in the Community
