The location of the position will be based on the candidate selected.

Under the general direction of the Business Taxes Administrator (BTA) I, the Business Taxes Specialist (BTS) I acts as a lead for the Statewide Compliance and Outreach Program (SCOP). The BTS I reviews potential underreporting leads, prepares and makes final recommendations for audit referrals, processes Field Billing Orders (FBOs), conducts follow up field calls, meets with taxpayers to process amended returns, and prepares referrals to other bureaus. In conjunction with the BTA I, the BTS I coordinates inquiries in multiple geographic areas within the state. The incumbent assists in identifying areas/industries for potential underreporting, coordinates enforcement efforts with other governmental agencies and jurisdictions, and tracks the results of investigations for compliance and oversight reporting. The incumbent must be able to travel overnight up to 25% of the time.
